In Nuoro, Milan and Rome the thether work “Agnese and the other” goes on stage
The appointments of the rich calendar of events organized as part of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the birth of Grazia Deledda continue unabated. The articulated program”Grazia Deledda, the woman who put no limits on women”, proposed by the artistic director Anthony Muroni, saw the staging of Agnese e l’altra, a theatrical show freely based on the novel La madre by Grazia Deledda, directed by Giovanni Carroni and interpreted by Monica Corimbi, Andrea Carroni and Noemi Medas. The production is by Compagna Bocheteatro Nuoro.
A great success with the public for the double preview in Nuoro (Thursday 24 and Friday 25 March), at the Bocheteatro di Nuoro, repeated by the national premiere at the Teatro Blu in Milan (29 March) and by the representation at the Arcobaleno Theater in Rome (31 March)
Muroni expressed satisfaction and gratitude for the staging of a work taken from one of the most significant books by the Sardinian author, a short novel capable of tackling complex themes such as clandestine love, the sense of sin and devotion to God. “Bringing a show taken from an opera by Grazia Deledda to the theaters of Milan and Rome, moreover staged by a Nuorese companion, gives further quality to the wide range of proposals we have put in place – concludes Muroni – to celebrate at best the greatness of a woman and an author like Grazia Deledda”.
This is echoed by Costantino Tidu, administrator of the Province of Nuoro, leader of the institutional committee of the Deleddian celebrations:”Bringing Grazia Deledda’s narrative to the theaters of Milan and Rome was one of the most significant points of our program of events, the most ambitious ever made in the history of the autonomy of Sardinia to remember the only Italian writer to have won the Nobel Prize for Literature. From the beginning of the celebrations, – continued Tidu – which officially started last September 28 in the main hall of the Ciusa School in Nuoro, we had set ourselves the goal of making Grazia Deledda known beyond the borders of the island, with a series of national and international events capable of turning the spotlight on this extraordinary woman. A result that, thanks to the commitment of the Artistic Director Muroni, we are achieving with the appreciation of all”.
